Comments
When visitors leave comments on our site, we collect the data shown in the comments form. We also collect visitors’ IP addresses and browser user agent strings to aid in spam detection.
An anonymized string from your email address (also known as a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to verify if you’re using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here. Should your comment be approved, your profile picture will be public in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload images to our site, please avoid those with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Other visitors can download and extract any location data from the images on our website.
Cookies
If you leave a comment, you may opt to save your name, email, and website details in cookies for convenience, so you won’t need to fill them in again for future comments. These cookies last for one year.
Our site sets a temporary cookie to check if your browser accepts cookies when you visit our login page. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
Upon login, we also set up several cookies to save your login information and screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days; screen options cookies last for a year. Selecting “Remember Me” will keep you logged in for two weeks. Logging out removes the login cookies.
Editing or publishing an article sets an additional cookie in your browser, which indicates the post ID of the article you edited. This cookie includes no personal data and expires after one day.

How Long We Retain Your Data
If you leave a comment, it and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a queue.
For registered users (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their profiles. All users can see, edit, or delete their information at any time (username cannot be changed). Administrators can see and edit that information.
If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you’ve provided to us. You can also request the erasure of any personal data we hold. This doesn’t include data we are obligated to keep for administrative, legal, or security reasons.
